Plan ahead – do a little homework! Research the company, the position, and the interview panel. Review your resume and work experiences and be prepared to walk through your job history with the employer. Be prepared with specific examples that highlight your career accomplishments and achievements.

Role play – once you have finished studying and researching, role play with a friend or family member…or your recruiter! Use the general questions provided in the Interview Preparation Area. Write down answers if it helps to make your presentation more concise. Try to limit your answers only to the information that the employer wants to know.

Eye contact – always maintain eye contact with your interviewer. Looking down or away shows a lack of confidence and reflects poorly to the interviewer.

Adapt – Listen and adapt. Be sensitive to the style of the interviewer. Pay attention to those details of dress, office environment, and other surroundings that will offer helpful clues to assist you in tailoring your presentation.

Relate – try to relate your answers to the interviewer and his or her company. Focus on achievements that are most relevant to the position for which you are applying.
